JV Hoops Summer Basketball Camp seeks to provide a summer-sanctuary for children and adolescents ages 10-18; making available, the opportunity for community youth to involve themselves in a positive, constructive activity.
With a combination of intense basketball drill sequences, body technique awareness, proper execution of dribbling, shooting, rebounding, and guarding, plus the partaking of friendly competition, this 6-wk program (which is broken down into 1-wk sessions), attempts to instill discipline, build character, and strengthen self-acceptance/self-worth; all of which is necessary to effectively co-exist in our ever-changing world.
JV Hoops Summer Basketball Camp helps build trust, encourages team-work and is an effectual teaching mechanism in conflict-resolution.
The JV Hoops Summer Basketball Camp seeks an on-going partnership with the National Baskeball Association and the Women’s National Basketball Association in hopes of recruiting volunteer basketball affiliates who see the value of being a positive influence in the lives of community youth by participating in “Celebrity Day”, a one day event set aside during each 1-wk session, engaging those affiliates (Coaches, Players, former Players, etc) in recreational activities with JV Hoops participants.
Rooted for Life would like to open its doors to JV Hoops Basketball Camp, summer 2014. Please help us in our efforts, by donating to our organization.
